We're In the Double Digits

Yes, You read it correctly!  We're in the double digits!  My baby boys are 10 months old.  You are probably in just as much disbelief as I find myself in numerous times a day.  I will pass by an older picture and realize that they were so little...so tiny...so helpless...and oh so precious!  When I think about our journey to parenthood I am truly amazed by the blessings the Lord has given us.  I know I've shared this with you before, but I really thought I would never know what it felt like to have children of my (our) own.  I was slowly coming to terms with that after the two years that we were trying so desperatley to have children.  Wow!  What blessings we received.  I can't imagine my life any other way.  I love my children and my husband so very much.  I truly know that I am where I am meant to be.  Do I miss teaching sometimes?  Yes.  Children have always been near and dear to my heart.  I enjoyed teaching and it was perfect for where I was then.  But now?!?!  I simply can't imagine not being able to be with my children everyday and experience the world through their eyes. (Which is yet another gift the Lord gives us when He blesses us with children!)  Some people may think being a "wife and mom" is so boring!  I am here to prove otherwise!  I don't even know the last time I've been bored!  You've got to find the time to be bored and I certainly can't find that.

March has been a major month for us!  So many things have happened this month. Lots of milestones, good times and great memories!

We became members of the Aquarium and now we can go whenever we want to!

Asher's not too sure what to think about this snake.  We went to "Scales and Tails" at the Aquarium. There was A LOT to see!

Grandma came to stay with us for a couple of weeks.  Somehow....I don't have any pictures of this :(  It was very nice to have her here though.  The boys got very used to getting up in the morning and seeing Grandma!

Asher and Nolan both "grew" more teeth this month!  Asher got his 7th and Nolan got his 3rd!!!  They'll be crunching apples and carrot sticks in no time!

We went to the library for the first time this month!  (And Mommy did not get any pictures of this one either.  I don't know what my problem is...)

The boys went to their first parade.  It was an annual St Patrick's Day Parade held downtown.  Unfortunatley, Daddy had to work, but it was still lots of fun!

We also took our first shopping trip to Myrtle Beach.  The best part was visiting the Disney Store.  They are too young to fully appreciate Disney World now, so the store will do the trick :)  Asher took some kind of liking to Woody.  It was pretty adorable.

Guess what other "first" we experienced this month.  Ear Infections.  Asher had an ear infection for half of the month and Nolan had a double ear infection for the other half.  I think my boys are braver and stronger than I give them credit for.  I wouldn't have even known Nolan had an ear infection if we were not already at the doctor's office.  He never acted sick, never tugged on his ears, never ran a fever.  They are both feeling much better and back to their normal selves!

We were part of a production called "Congratulations Mr Morgan." A short independent film directed by the up and coming Alex Manning.  Nolan played the part of the baby in the film.  It was such a great experience to be able to see all that goes on behind the scenes.  I can't wait to see the raw footage of Nolan and his acting because it was pretty funny.  Asher enjoyed hanging out and seeing everything too...even though he didn't get to show his acting talents just yet.  (I do wish he would've been able to though...)

Here some other fun they had on the set....

This month we were able to get bikes!  This is something Nathan and I have talked about wanting to get for as long as we've been married.  Finally, we did it.  Shortly after the boys were born we were given a double bike trailer.  So the boys are able to go on bike rides with us as well.  At first they were very angry with me about the helmets.  I kept telling them that once they realized what would happen once I put them on that they wouldn't be mad at me anymore.  Thankfully, I was right.  Once we got going...they loved it!

Asher said Mama for the first time and melted my heart, of course.  The video that I have is of the second time he was saying it.  He has since mastered it.  I love that he can say it.  He's also learned what it means.  earlier in the week I had to go to the dentist.  Asher and Nolan stayed with Nathan while I was away.  (It is a very rare occassion that I leave any of my boys...husband included:D)  Nathan later told me that when I walked out the door Asher crawled over to the door and said, "Mama. Mama.  Mama."  How cute is that!!!

Nolan has been standing on his own a lot more this month and on 3/24 he took his first steps!  It wasn't far or fast, but it was independent.  He had one hand on the couch and was trying to reach his other hand to the other couch, but he couldn't quite reach.  So, bravely, he let go, took two steps and arrived at the other couch safely!  First steps!  Wow!

Another big first!  Clapping!  Asher has learned to clap and stolen our hearts in the process.  I don't know if I've ever seen a more adorable scene than my baby clapping and smiling!

March has been such an amazing month.  Now, wasn't I right?!  How could we ever be bored with these two wonderful little guys giving us so many reasons to smile? Hope we've brought a smile to your face too!
